Who are we and why do we do it?
The event was set up in 1995 to raise money for Ward 31 at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary following a serious motorcycle accident involving a son of the Hutton family. The Hutton family and friends wanted a way in which they could repay the hospital for their kindness and hard work. As the family had always been involved in steam preservation, it seemed a natural way for them to raise money and share their passion with others.
The current committee is made up of people with a passion for the preservation movement.
We support the Midlands Air Ambulance which has a helicopter based at Tatenhill Airfield, about 3 miles from the rally site.
We hope you enjoy browsing this site and look forward to seeing you at the next event.
